CCC in MISD (CollegeCommunityCareer)
We are so thankful to CCC and MISD for collaborating to allow CCC classes to take place during the school day in the 2023-2024 school year. CollegeCommunityCareer fosters a college-going culture with both lower-income and first-generation high school students and families to create and build equity in education. They prepare students for admission to and graduation from a four-year university based on these four pillars: College Success, Leadership Development, Civic Engagement, and Career Discovery.
CCC hosts zoom calls for 3 Marfa cohorts: 12th graders, 11th graders, 10th graders. Our students have received incredible support from CCC - from applying to college, to building a competitive resume, help applying for FAFSA (Financial Aid) and scholarships, and guiding the students in their next steps after high school. The CCC team has traveled from Houston to Marfa several times this year to host parent meetings and meet with students to support them in the college journey.
Special “THANK YOU!” to Kathy Rose and Tomas Tobar at CCC for their dedication to our students.
