Summer Shake Up 2022

We hosted our second year of sixth through eighth grade students for Summer Shake Up in June. Students spent 4 days on the Alamito Ranch exploring the property and participating in workshops on animals held by TPWD. Lynn Loomis taught the students about native plants and the various soils, and the students got to make seed bombs with zinnia flower seeds for their yards.

β€œThe Alamito Ranch was fun because you get to learn a lot about plants that are there. You learn how you could survive in the wilderness. You also learn about types of deer and bears around the area and a bunch more animals.” - Aidyn Gonzales, incoming sixth grader
