Sul Ross Students Write Prescribed Burn Plan

We had a very educational day on the Alamito Ranch with students from Sul Ross State University! The students in Dr. Kinucan’s Rangeland Management course have been studying prescribed burns. The students put everything they have learned so far this semester to action. They paid great attention to detail, which is required because writing a prescribed burn plan is a tedious project. Later in the semester the students presented their plans to Garey Willbanks, Alamito Foundation’s President, for us to potentially use someday. We were extremely impressed with the students and their dedication to this project. For now, their prescribed burn plan is in our back pocket as we wait for the perfect conditions to implement all of their hard work!
